That is why the team at bage plastics has set itself the task of making a valuable contribution to maintaining the ecological balance by returning plastic waste to the material cycle.
Our declared goal is to define, compensate and reduce the CO2 footprint. By 2030, bage plastics intends to be CO2 neutral.

THE BAGE PLASTICS RECYCLING LOOP.
FROM A REFRIGERATOR TO A COFFEE MACHINE.
6.5 million refrigerators and other plastic waste from refrigerator reprocessing – that’s how many are annually processed in the recycling plants in Wolfern near Steyr. First they are shredded and washed, then separated by various physical separation processes. For instance, from metal, wood or dust. As soon as the material has dried, it is melted and re-granulated by means of an extruder.
Pure plastic granulates of the highest quality
The result is pure plastic pellets and compounds made of PS, ABS, PP and PC-ABS. Further additives are incorporated in the “compounding” manufacturing process. This is dependent on the recipe and the customer’s requirements. In this way, the material properties can be individually adapted to the customer’s technical requirements: whether in terms of breaking strength, impact strength or colour, to name but a few.
A closed cycle - 100 % sustainable
The bage plastics products are further processed into office articles, sanitary articles, electrical appliances and much more. The truly amazing aspect is that bage plastics can replace new raw materials by up to 100%. Regardless of the product you make from it.
And so waste plastic from old refrigerators is turned into high-quality plastic re-granulate. This is reused for the production of new plastic products. And so for example, an old refrigerator becomes a new coffee machine.
