Mai 2023. The injection moulding machine manufacturer ENGEL together with ROCTOOL and BAGE PLASTICS are closing together the material cycle for sophisticated visible ABS components. With the help of Roctool induction technology and digital solutions, housing parts with a very high-quality visible surface have been produced from post-consumer ABS by bage plastics.

To advance the circular economy, the aim is to use recycled plastic waste in a much broader range of applications. Visible components with very high-quality surfaces have so far posed a particularly great challenge in this respect. In order to obtain good results in injection moulding without post-processing, a high proportion of virgin material is usually required, as far as recyclates can be added at all.

This box represents therefore a game-changing result for various high-end applications: the material used to produce the high-quality electronics boxes consists of post-consumer plastics and was sourced by bage plastics GmbH. On the top, the boxes are given innovative patterns by laser engraving, while the side surfaces are provided with fixtures for mounting fans and connectors.

Thanks to the combination of both leading moulding technologies and premium recyclates, even demanding housing parts with a super thin, complicated geometry can now be produced from post-consumer recycled material in a sustainable way.
